Orange Coast College may be able to add even more accolades to their outstanding resume. In order to achieve their 12th national rowing title, the college must beat out the 40 other schools vying for the same win. Leading the team to hopeful glory is coach Cameron Brown and assistant coach Steve Morris. They have the unique challenge of coaching brand new rowers to compete at the same level as their very experienced rivals. In the past, coach Brown and Morris have managed to accomplish this feat with a strict training schedule made up of early mornings and twenty hour-long weekly practices. The hard work has definitely paid off in the past for the rowing alumni. Ten rowing veterans hailing from Orange Coast College have competed at the Olympic level and several more have been accepted to the likes of Stanford, the University of Washington, and UC Berkley.

Hoping for a future just as bright is 22 year old Daniel Amado. He’s one of the almost 40 men out of 80 who have stuck with the tough training throughout the season. To top it all off he’s the one man in the entire team who can call himself captain. He will get the same opportunity as hundreds before him: to achieve a national title for his coaches, his team, his college, and his future. With these powerful players on their side, the Orange Coast College rowing team can count on an inspiring legacy as they race to win their 12th national title. Learn more:
